Patient Care

You don't have to be royalty or a hollywood celebrity to stand out in the crowd. All it takes is the desire and the dedication to help other people. That's what being a member of the St. John Ambulance Patient Care is all about. Our Patient Care Providers are a dedicated group of volunteers made up of people like you who want to serve their community in an important and unique way. These members volunteer their time to learn First Aid/CPR techniques and use these life-saving skills to help others.

As a member of the Patient Care programme you will provide volunteer services at a variety of public events such as parades, hockey games, concerts and cultural events. You will be trained as a top-notch first aider and your distinctive black and white uniform will tell the world that when someone needs help, you'll be there!

Being a Patient Care member isn't always easy but those who belong to this unique group of volunteers agree that it is always rewarding and always fun!

In addition to your duties as a patient care provider, the program offers the opportunity to gain  valuable experience in the areas of leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

While St. John Ambulance has its roots in Christianity today's volunteers and resources are welcomed from all members of our multicultural community. Our mission in Canada is to enable Canadians to improve their health, safety and quality of life, by providing training and community service.
